The IT Database Administrator will report to the IT Systems Supervisor and assist with the selection, integration and implementation of the Bank’s database platforms. They will be a critical team member helping with all line of business system database installations and maintenance processes. This person will also be a database operation, data import and reporting technical expert for the Data Management Department as needed. Knowledge of database security processes, authentication and encryption options will provide subject matter expertise to the IT and Risk Departments for user access reviews and technical questions.

 Key Result Areas:  

  • Install, upgrade, and manage database servers

  • Leverage experience and technical knowhow to assist the rest of IT Operations with internally hosted system databases

  • Develop processes and standards for optimizing database security

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot database performance issues and errors

  • Create automation for repetitive database tasks

  • Assist in the technology selection and risk assessment process for new solutions

  • Help to maintain the Enterprise Data Flow documentation to ensure customer information storage and flow are properly documented

  • Participate in Project Management Office (PMO) project meetings as needed to ensure IT database requirements and security are addressed

  • Support the integration and implementation of net new systems as well as the upgrade of existing solutions

  • Recommend new policies and procedures with regards to access, security and least privilege including the development and documentation of new policies and procedures

  • Perform additional duties as required


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or other subject matter area with 6 years of Database Administration experience

  • 5+ years of experience in database implementation, maintenance and support

  • Expertise in Microsoft SQL required and Oracle Database highly desired

  • Strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills

  • Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office, Visio, SharePoint, Microsoft 365

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule; i.e. weekends and evenings as needed
