POSITION: CONSUMER FINANCE MANAGER

As Consumer Finance Manager, you are responsible for managing the daily operations of the end-to-end loan cycle for all consumer direct non-real estate loans, including the processing, underwriting, and closing of applications that are delivered through the banks online and in-branch channels. You will be responsible for overseeing the departments paperless loan origination system, leading by example by performing fulfillment duties as needed, and collaborating with business partners to ensure and optimal customer experience and turnaround time. You will provide a relationship centric environment while ensuring effective processes are in place to meet policies and procedures as well as support senior management by taking lead on specific goal-oriented projects including the implementation of new products and fulfillment enhancements.
Key Result Areas:
Oversee underwriting of all loan applications delivered through branch and online channels and where necessary, directly underwriting applications.
Ensure loan files are underwritten to policy guidelines and procedures including lending decisions.
Ensure required documentation and tracking items including but not limited to credit, income, and collateral documentation are satisfactory and meet applicable guidelines and procedures.
Ensure all required processes have been followed to meet compliance guidelines and that products are represented according to policy and compliance requirements.
Provide internal audit responses and execute on recommendations or findings.
Review adverse actions letters to ensure accuracy and ensure all job aids remain up to date.
Ensures loan applications are completed accurately by branch personnel, collaborating with retail banking partners to execute best practices to meet established customer experience levels, while ensuring the financial wellbeing of our customers.
Provides prompt attention to LOS queue and turnaround time on all loan applications including online applications. Assign online applications to branch personnel promptly with applicable tracking items.
Prepare closing documents within LaserPro accurately and with great attention to detail, place closing package in E-Signature program, and prepare underwriting package for Loan Servicing.
Administer system maintenance, updates, and user controls for LOS, POS and supporting functions.
Manage and administer the Dealertrack title management system, including title maintenance, while ensuring all titles are electronically matched for Consumer non real estate auto loans, as well as execute research on pending titles.
Review and complete Continuity quarterly system audits and other assignments.
Oversee the daily activities of the consumer non-real estate team, provide training, mentoring, coaching, and continuous feedback, as well as complete periodic performance reviews.
Research and remain knowledgeable of other financial institutions rates and loan programs. Makes suggestions to SVP for rate or program adjustments.
Demonstrate the organization’s service commitment in all customer interactions, including internal employee interactions.
Contribute to effective team management of all issues and opportunities.
Participate in committee meetings, business related meetings and civic functions as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of regulations and compliance with respect to consumer non-real estate lending.
- Thorough knowledge of consumer loan products including auto, personal, unsecured, deposit secured, and student loan.
- Strong technical skills and attention to detail and accuracy are critical.
- 5-8 years of experience managing the lending function at an institution and experience with the marketplace. Bachelor’s degree in business is preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze documents such as but not limited to paystubs, tax returns, credit reports, purchase and sales agreements, insurance binders, etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to clearly support loan decisions being made.
- Excellent organization and time management skills are required.
- Thorough understanding of regulations and laws pertaining to lending.
