The Business Continuity Analyst, under the direction of the Information Security Officer, is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of the business continuity and disaster recovery policies, procedures, program and framework in conformance with regulatory requirements and guidelines.  Maintain and perform bank-wide risk assessment and business impact analysis for functions across the company.  Serve as an advisor to business unit managers for disaster recovery and business continuity planning, working closely with the Information Security Officer, Information Technology, Facilities and HR departments.  Coordinates the continuous and regular validation and testing of documented Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans.

Key Result Areas:  

  • Assist with maintaining the Bank's Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Program which incorporates planning, testing, and business impact analysis components for all subsidiaries and corporate support functions

  • Implement risk-based schedule of exercises and assessments with the business units to update and maintain business continuity documents and templates, test the effectiveness of plans under a variety of business disruption scenarios, and appropriately document and track all findings

  • Analyze and report on items according to the Disaster Recovery Policy and Program, including program compliance, high-risk activities, gaps in the program (including reporting and escalation), and new/emerging risks, etc.

  • Work with the Information Security Officer (ISO) and IT department to incorporate internal and external security threat scenarios into disaster recovery planning and testing

  • Participate in high-risk vendor disaster recovery testing

  • Manage the emergency notification system

  • Assist with the preparation of reports to support the overall status of the disaster recovery & business continuity program to the Information Security Committee and other committees as deemed necessary

  • Support and contribute to projects and initiatives for the program

  • Maintain a high level of knowledge through training, participation in outside seminars and from professional publications and groups to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines

  • Manage work to ensure all deliverables are met on a timely and quality basis

  • Perform additional duties as required


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field, or 4+ years work experience

  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in banking, business continuity, or related business field

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills

  • Strong verbal / written communications. Must be able to interface and coordinate work efficiently and effectively with business partners in remote locations

  • Strong administrative skills, with effectiveness in developing tasks and managing resources to achieve target dates

  • Must be a self-starter and a productive team player

  • Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • CBCP Certification or similar strongly preferred

  • Travel and off-hour on-call support required
