POSITION:  COMMERCIAL LOAN ADMINISTRATION & SERVICING MANAGER

Summary:

Responsible for managing all facets of the Commercial Loan Administration (loan closings) and Servicing functions for the CRE, C&I, ABL and Small Business loan portfolios as well as specialized products like construction loans, Commercial SWAPS and Industrial Revenue Bonds. Ensures staff are meeting pre-determined SLAs and are providing a best in class experience for all internal and external customers.

 Key Result Areas:  

  • Effectively manage and measure performance of servicing staff responsible for the boarding of new loans into Core system including modifications, renewals, extensions and TDRs and ensure procedures are followed and performance standards are met.

  • Oversee the management of administration staff to complete commercial loan closings for new CRE, C&I, and SBA loan requests including Participations, SWAPS, IRB Bonds, Letters of Credit, modifications, increases, renewals and extensions, ensuring adherence to required loan terms and conditions.

  • Oversee and manage staff responsible for compliance related tasks involving Flood Insurance determination/notifications, CIP Program, Reg B, Reg C (CRA/HMDA), Reg O Insider and FASB.

  • Manage staff responsible for Post-closing documentation review to ensure that all loan documentation is appropriately and accurately executed and received as well as Legal and administrative exceptions working closely with Loan Officers, Borrowers & attorneys to clear them. 

  • Oversee management of the Pipeline Report and participate in pipeline meetings held by Sr. Management for C&I, CRE.

  • Participate and coordinate, as necessary, Core system releases and enhancements, including training of staff.

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining all commercial loan administration and servicing procedures.

  • Responsible for managing the accurate processing of commercial SWAPs.

  • Manage the servicing of non-performing loans by working closely with Chief Credit Officer and VP of Commercial Servicing to ensure loans are properly reported per the Commercial Lending Policy and FDIC rules.

  • Responsible for monitoring the review of closing documents for conformance with approvals and compliance with Bank policies.

  • Manage the process, preparation and integrity of commercial loan information reported monthly to the Board of Directors, per Bank policy and state & federal regulations.

  • Responsible for training the Commercial Loan Servicing staff in all aspects of processing, documentation preparation, tracking, and compliance with regulations and Bank policies.

  • Responsible for monitoring the on-going tracking of UCC’s, Hazard & Flood Insurance and system ticklers.

  • Responsible for the oversight of 30+ g/l asset accounts and suspense accounts, ensuring that weekly and monthly G/L reconciliations are complete and accurate and follow up research is performed on all outstanding items.

  • Participate on special enterprise-wide projects and committees as assigned.

  • Manage inter-department projects as assigned.

  • Contribute to the effective team management of all bank problems, issues and opportunities.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and customers.

  • Perform additional duties as required.         

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors degree or 10 years of work experience.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Minimum 5 years’ commercial loan servicing experience including real estate, small business and corporate loans.
  • Strong understanding of the commercial lending life cycle including credit, administration, servicing and post-closing.
  • Strong knowledge of various commercial loan products like construction, term, demand line of credits, letters of credit, asset-based lending, master commitments, SWAPs and Industrial Revenue Bonds.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of corporate and commercial real estate documentation.   
  • Demonstrated experience with commercial and mortgage servicing core systems.
  • Strong accounting skills preferred along with strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to creatively address business issues relating to loan closings and servicing within the confines of the established system process.
